Didn't you *just* pay estimated taxes in April?!

This might be my LEAST favorite tax deadline of all time because it always sneaks up on you.

June 16th is the estimated tax deadline for the second quarter, and if you're self-employed (or have any income that isn't subject to withholding), you probably need to pay these!

Check with your tax accountant to determine your safe harbor payment amount to avoid penalties and interest.

P.S. You can schedule payments ahead of time on the IRS website; it's the easiest way to make sure you don't miss a deadline!

WRONG!! If I’m being honest, I don’t actually do *all* that much data entry.

When your bank feeds sync with your bookkeeping software, the majority of your transaction amounts, dates, and payors/vendors are automatically entered.

A HUGE part of my job is then going in to review these transactions and make sure each one is coded to the correct account!

While categorization is INCREDIBLY important for tax purposes (especially for things like meals that may only be 50% deductible) and complex transactions (like payroll)...

It’s also super important for financial reporting, which allows you to make day-to-day decisions or operational changes!

Can we talk about this for a minute? This month I parted ways with a client who is been with me for over 10 years. She saw my girls when they were in car seats and cheered me on professionally as my business grew.

The issue - her business just didn't align with the clients I am serving at this time.

The choice - we could have went another year and I could have kept dealing with the outlier - A disturbance of sorts that went against all of the systems we currently have in place.

But instead... We had the hard conversation. I choose to make a change.

The outcome - my client was so understanding. She will welcome in someone new and they will be great. I am staying true to my goals and feel more space now for it.

So if you are on the fence between choosing to keep to the thing that you are afraid of changing. Here is your sign! There are so many amazing things waiting for you on the other side of that roadblock and once it is moved you will wonder why you waiting so long! 💕
